The Spirit of Canada souvenir book, produced to commemorate the 1939 Royal visit by H.M. King George VI and H.M. Queen Elizabeth, includes articles about each of the provinces and territories with accompanying sketches by Charles W. Simpson, R.C.A.. These articles were written by several eminent Canadian authors of the time, including L.M. Montgomery, who wrote the piece on Prince Edward Island.
